Transdiaspora Network’s Tour to Health at the Atlantic Antic Festival
Brooklyn, NY (Sept. 8, 2014) – For a second year in a row, Transdiaspora Network (TDN) will be one of the few HIV-related social enterprises at the 40th Annual Atlantic Antic Festival on September 28, 2014, from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. As a proud member of the NYC Health Department Brooklyn Knows Initiative, TDN team will be assisted by our exclusive partner organization Community Health Network to conduct FREE HIV testing and healthy eating among festival goers. Also, we’re going to promote our BOLD Initiative internship among local youth and conduct interactive activities for families and children in collaboration with two Brooklyn-based local businesses: Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain and Something Else Clothing. The event is part of TDN Tour to Health schedule of community activities.
This festival, presented by the Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation (AALDC), is the street festival to end all street festivals. On this beautiful autumn day in Brooklyn, the Atlantic Antic will bring together thousands of people to Atlantic Avenue to celebrate the longstanding tradition of food, art, music, shopping, festivities, and fun! The Atlantic Antic is a living tribute to the myriad of heritages that coexist in Brooklyn. Spanning four neighborhoods from Hicks Street to Fourth Avenue, the Antic is the largest street festival in New York City! From start to finish, Atlantic Avenue is transformed into a sea of entertainment offering something for everyone.
Since now, TDN team, along with our exclusive partners, is inviting all our NYC friends to save the date. Share it with your network and RSVP here. There will be a lot surprises.
